October 14, 2020 – Brown County, the City of De Pere, and the Town of Lawrence are working together to make the South Bridge Connector Project – a long-discussed project that will alleviate traffic congestion in the area – a reality.
October 14, 2020 – Chris Boucher, Winneconne Village President, joined TDA Executive Director Debby Jackson on TDA’s On The Go podcast to discuss the city’s new bridge and the recognition it has received.
September 28, 2020 – The USDOT awarded $31.8 million to a joint Wisconsin-Minnesota rail project – the Twin Cities-Milwaukee-Chicago Intercity Passenger Rail Service Project. This project is expected to increase economic development, enhance the passenger experience, and improve the efficiency of travel in the region.
September 2, 2020 – Wisconsin receives its first designated national bike routes – USBR 30 and USBR 230. This corridor from Milwaukee to Bluff Siding on the Mississippi River will draw local, regional, and national cyclists to communities along the trail and positively impact Wisconsin’s economy.
August 23, 2020 – EAA moved its annual AirVenture fly-in to a virtual format in 2020 and delighted fans across the country and worldwide. The event, billed as “five days of flying engagement and fun”, included streaming and on-demand content, plus a virtual mall for exhibitors typically found at the event in Oshkosh.
August 20, 2020 – The WIS 116 river crossing is a critical link in a growing region of the state, connecting area residents to Oshkosh and the Fox Valley via U.S. 45 and U.S. 41. The crossing is integral to those living in the Winneconne area because it provides access to employment, educational facilities, retail, health care providers, recreation, and supports local businesses and trucking access.
July 20, 2020 – Wittman Regional Airport in Winnebago County is considered an economic engine to the Fox Valley Region, as it welcomes thousands of visitors to the area for the annual EAA AirVenture.
