January 13, 2022 – TDA’s Debby Jackson urges Wisconsin leaders to seize the opportunity provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. An essential part of making the most of the measure’s increased federal funding is understanding it alone will not address all of our transportation network’s pressing needs.

December 23, 2021 – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced the first round of funding – $2.89 billion – made available by Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to over 3,000 airports around the nation. Wisconsin airports were allocated $39.8 million in the first year. A total of 86 airfields and airports across the state will benefit from these additional federal funds.
January 25, 2022 – $14 billion has been announced for 2022 port and waterway infrastructure projects, with funds coming from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and other funds.
March 3, 2021 – Routes along three of Wisconsin’s major waterfronts have won Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) designations for their national importance as tourism destinations. “These three scenic routes show off some of the best of what Wisconsin has to offer,” said Acting Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Anne Sayers.
September 28, 2020 – The Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa was awarded a $5.8 million BUILD Grant from the USDOT for its Transportation Renewal Project, which will build a multi-purpose transportation center plus transportation-related office space.
September 28, 2020 – The USDOT awarded $31.8 million to a joint Wisconsin-Minnesota rail project – the Twin Cities-Milwaukee-Chicago Intercity Passenger Rail Service Project. This project is expected to increase economic development, enhance the passenger experience, and improve the efficiency of travel in the region.
September 18, 2020 – Slightly more than a year after the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin County Highway Association announced the Low-Risk Bridge Pilot Program, half of the 16 program bridges have been replaced or will be this year. The pilot program has resulted in expedited project delivery and reduced costs.
